Auditions
Assistant Principal French Horn: A preliminary round of auditions for the Assistant Principal French Horn position with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will take place at the Meyerson Symphony Center on March 3, 2008. Music Director
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is proud to announce the appointment of Jaap van Zweden as music director, beginning in September 2008. Jaap van Zweden's most recent appearance with the DSO was in February 2006, as part of the Texas Instruments Classical Series. Van Zweden won over the musicians, search committee and audience with his masterful interpretation of music by Brahms, Ravel and Wagenaar. As music director designate next season (2007-2008), Jaap will conduct three weeks, including two weeks of the Symphony's five-week Texas Instruments Classical Series Beethoven Festival.
