Music DirectorThe Dallas Symphony Orchestra announced on February 1 the appointment of Jaap van Zweden as music director. During the 2007-2008 season, van Zweden will conduct three weekends as music director designate, assuming the music director position for the 2008-2009 season.
Jaap van Zweden
Born in Amsterdam in December of 1960, Jaap van Zweden began his musical career studying the violin. He entered The Julliard School at age 16 and, at age 19, was invited to join the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as concertmaster.
