DIRECTOR OF SPONSORSHIP, CORPORATE AND FOUNDATION GIVING (Development Department)
Join the Dallas Symphony Association's talented Development team as the Director of Sponsorship, Corporate and Foundation Giving. The primary responsibilities of this position are the fundraising and benefit management of corporate revenue, to include major sponsorships as well as all other levels of corporate revenue. Specifically, the incumbent will secure new and renewed corporate partnerships with a target of $1 million annually; secure new and renewed foundation, organization, and government grants, through well-written, persuasive grant applications and proposals, as well as relationship-management; make solicitation and cultivation calls and follow up on proposals submitted to prospects; manage team of staff focused on corporate and foundation revenue generation; manage team of volunteers devoted to corporate and foundation revenue generation; attend concerts, serve concert duty shifts and attend relevant development department and association events; oversee data entry and upkeep, benefits, and events for corporate and foundation division; serve as integral part of a development department responsible for raising over $10 million in annual gifts and preparing to embark on a $100 million endowment effort.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree and five years' experience in corporate fundraising. The candidate should also possess excellent communication, advanced computer and problem solving skills. Knowledge of classical music is a plus. CFRE preferred.
SENIOR MANAGER OF STRADIVARIUS PATRONS (Development Department)
The Dallas Symphony Association has an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional in our Development department: Senior Manager of Stradivarius Patrons. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and implement giving strategy through the cultivation and solicitation of major individual donors of $2,000+. As such, the incumbent will manage a personal portfolio of 100+ major gift prospects as well as a portfolio of 200+ major gift prospects assigned to volunteers. Specifically, this role will identify and visit with prospects and donors to communicate the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's short-term and long-term objectives and to solicit support for these needs. Additionally, this position will manage the relationships of key volunteers (including Board of Governor members) to assist with fundraising goals; oversee the Vivaldi Patron Circle (VPC) program; and coordinate special donor events with Special Events department. Moreover, as a member of the development team, the incumbent will work in collaboration with development colleagues in various phases of overall planning and implementation, will staff at least 15 concerts annually, and will attend development donor events as necessary.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; three years closely related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong background in fundraising and donor cultivation required. CFRE preferred.
DIRECTOR OF ENDOWMENT & PLANNED GIVING (Development Department)
We have an exciting opportunity available as the Director of Endowment & Planned Giving.
Director of Endowment & Planned Giving will work with the executive leadership of the Dallas Symphony Association, specifically the VP of Development to actively raise funds for the Dallas Symphony's $100,000,000 Endowment Campaign. Position is responsible for all phases of this process to include researching prospects, developing proposals and closing gifts for this major endowment effort. The secondary focus of this position is planned giving. The Director will be responsible for researching potential donors, forming relationships and making solicitations and personal visits when appropriate. These interactions will include developing relationships with attorneys, CPA's, trust officers and financial advisers to accommodate such gifts. In the development area, this position oversees all aspects of gift development including soliciting outright endowed gifts or more traditional planned gifts such as charitable trusts and bequests and oversees the benefits for endowment and planned giving donors.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of 7+ years in a professional development capacity, success at developing and managing a portfolio of major gifts, and planned giving experience. The selected individual should possess excellent relationship building and presentation skills, financial aptitude for learning the tax and estate planning aspects of planned giving. Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Other skills necessary for success include computer proficiency with various software programs to include Microsoft Office Suite. An advanced degree and CFRE certification are assets in this position.
PART-TIME TICKETING & PATRON SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE (Patron Services Department)
We have immediate part-time positions available for enthusiastic candidates with at least 1 year of experience in customer service. We require computer skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to a changing environment. Knowledge of classical music a plus.
The primary function of this position is to provide excellent customer service in the box office and on the phone. In addition, the schedule may include supporting the box office before and during Dallas Symphony Orchestra's Classical and Pops performances. Specific responsibilities include:
- Performing ticket sales, exchanges, and donations using the Tessitura ticketing system over the phone and at the box office.
- Up selling additional performances, additional tickets and better seating areas.
- Partnering with patron service representative to resolve time-sensitive issues.
- Accepting payments and performing daily and concert sales reconciliations.
- Accurately capturing patron contact information.
- Staffing the Will Call window.
- Assisting various departments with special ticketing requests.
- Supporting inbound customer service representative as needed.
Our ideal candidate has a commitment to professionalism and patron service, as well as an excellent attendance record. Pay rate starts at $10.00 an hour, with opportunities for regular increases with good performance and attendance. As a part-time employee, the position may be scheduled for up to 25 hours on a regular basis.
